Is this a bad trend?Freemasons, is it true today freemasonry membership is declining and it is slowly advertising itself?
membership has been declining for a number of decades... primarily because the average age of a freemason is over 70.
in my jurisdiction, more members are joining that quitting, however more are dying than joining.
this is because of an abnormal boost in membership during and following WWII
yes, some places are starting to advertise to let people see what freemasonry really is, and put to rest the perceptions propogated by hollywoodFreemasons, is it true today freemasonry membership is declining and it is slowly advertising itself?
Cl_ is in a common situation. I am fortunate, my lodge is bringing in a lot of candidates. We have 10 waiting to receive the Entered Apprentice (1st) degree. 5 are going to ge initiated in August, and 5 more in September, and we raised 7 master masons in June. We are unique, that the lodge is attracting younger men to the craft, and most of our officers have less than 5 years as masons.
Masonry is slowly coming back, it's quality, not quantity that is important
