I went to 24 hr Fitness to get a membership, they said they don't negotiate prices.. they'll are set. true?

I'm in Fullerton, Ca, went to ask one @ Buena park. Is that correct? Is there any way to negotiate the prices.. Well, I do know that they has a friends/family special... you pay $79.00 to start and the monthly fees are $24.00...and its for sports.. you can get into ANY sports 24 fitness centers its not just for one location only... :-)I went to 24 hr Fitness to get a membership, they said they don't negotiate prices.. they'll are set. true?
I'm a member, and I remember that around the first of the year (when everyone makes their New Year's resolutions) they have sales and do things like wave the initiation fees.





Or you could sign up for 3 or 5 years with one payment. That lowers the monthly rates a lot. My buddy did that, and although I can't remember the price, it was way cheaper than month to month.
I think if you go in to visit with the salesman from time to time and ask about sales, specials, promotions et al that there may be some flexibility. Look for specials on the website.
